The diary of a schizophrenic

author Marguerite A. Sechehaye

We will now know the confidences that Renée made to me shortly after her healing, confidences describing the first feelings of unreality she felt when she was five years old. "I remember very well the day this happened. I had gone for a walk alone (I was in the country, traveling), as I sometimes did. Suddenly, a song in German was heard… "

HOW DO I WORK?

Empathy, tolerance, warmth, authenticity, respect, responsibility to my patients are the values that define my practice.

I am fascinated by people, by the extraordinary power of the mind, by the immense human capacity to overcome hard trials, to love, to create, to live beautifully.

Every human being harbors in it an adult and the child of yesteryear. In reality, the inner child is the one who guides the steps of the adult. When we talk about a happy and secure childhood, the inner child behaves like a true guardian angel of the adult. However, things are different when there were sufferings, traumas, abuses in childhood, or when the child witnessed helplessly the suffering of his parents.

In the psychotherapeutic approach, by working in "here and now" I accompany the patient on the path of self-knowledge, helping him to be aware of the conflicts within himself, which can generate problems, symptoms, diseases. In this way, the patient discovers his own ways of functioning, which used them in the past, but which can now become obstacles to development.

I consider the psychotherapist-patient / client relationship one of the important factors that influence the effectiveness of therapy. It is a unique, special meeting that completely differs from all other relationships in life. The two work together, thinking and feeling emotions, feelings, events, in a way that most people do not do in everyday life, even with those closest to them.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Psychotherapy must provide security, confidentiality, enough support to be able to explore the thoughts, emotions, feelings, the most intimate dreams of the patient. One of the necessary conditions for the success of a psychotherapy is the observance of the framework.

We created this space, in which everyone can find themselves, can look at the child they once were and can (re) build…
